Margaret Leigh has been asthmatic for as long as she can remember although she was not diagnosed until into her mid 20’s. Her Asthma progressed over the years to the severe classification. She has worked in many fields from retail to electrical to health care. One job in particular, however, was a great turning point for her. Working as a Therapeutic Clown at the Trillium Health Centre she had opportunity to be involved in Asthma Education Team. During this time, she also became involved with the Asthma Association, and NAPA as an Asthma Ambassador. Her love of photography, working with rescued cats, her the love of outdoors and walking have occasionally been challenged, however she has worked with her team which include her family practitioner, the Asthma Education team, her respirologist, and her Allergist, to identify her triggers and keep her Severe Asthma generally well in check. She is a firm believer in education, for the patient, their family, and the public at large, as a first line in managing asthma for everyone.
